In 1752, the year of the city's founding, the Easton Farmers' Market (EFM) was established, establishing it as the nation's earliest continuously operating outdoor market. As a producer-only market, the EFM is committed to providing a secure, transparent atmosphere in which consumers can shop with confidence and purchase products from reputable sources. Every item sold at the EFM is locally grown and manufactured. The vast majority of produce is grown naturally or organically. No livestock or dairy products contain antibiotics or hormones. Animals are reared on pasture. When possible, prepared cuisine and ready-to-eat vendors source ingredients from local farms. Every farm is subject to an extensive on-site inspection.
