The Millburn area consists of the Wyoming neighborhood, South Mountain, and the Millburn town square. Brookhaven, Country Club, Deerfield-Crossroads, Glenwood, Knollwood, Merrywood, Mountaintop, Old Short Hills Estates, and White Oak Ridge are all neighborhoods in Short Hills.

Millburn is located in Union County, New Jersey, and is bounded to the north by Livingston, to the northeast by West Orange, and to the east by Maplewood. To the west and southwest, Millburn is abutted by Chatham Borough and Florham Park in Morris County, and to the south by Summit and Springfield and Union Townships in Union County.

The West Branch of the Rahway River runs through downtown Millburn.
